Royals v KKR at JaipurÂ
Apr 8, 2012 (16:00 local | 10:30 GMT)
RajisthansÂ
The team has got a great opening that to the tournament with a 30 odd runs win over the Kings Xl.One man who was unnoticed before the tournament was Rahane he had a fabulous opening to his international career but now he began the IPL with a bang scoring a classy 98. Dravid opened the batting with him providing a good start to the royal. Rajasthan Royals, under Rahul Dravid, don’t have too many superstars, and the ones they do have are not available in the initial part of the season. Another surprise was the West-Indian Kevon Copper hitting a 3 ball 11 to finish the innings and taking 4 wickets in his IPL debut,it was a dream debut for him can he continue is what we will have to wait and see.J botha , O Shah and Brad Hodge are all good players of the T-20 format with Botha being the captain of the south african national team and Hodge the highest scorer in the world.Dravid will be expecting that his foreign players do fire because if they do KKR will be having a tough time.
Kolkata
They will be considering them unfortunate to have lost their first match but it was the brilliance of Morkel that really did do the diffrence.Kolkata Knight Riders is so full of talent that they couldn’t make space for Twenty20 certainties such as Sunil Narine and Shakib Al Hasan. If Mccullum or Yusuf Pathan fire no stadium will be short for them, Kallis or Gambhir should look to play through the innings because they can up the ante and provide solidity at one end.Bowling will be led by Bret lee i was still surprised why he did not bowl his 3 and lange did , Yusuf pathan and kallis provide the all round option but bowling still looks week they need a good second seamer. KKR should be looking to register their first win of the tournament against a team which is comparatively new to them .
Stats and trivia
- Royals have won 13 of their 18 games at Sawai Mansingh Stadium
- These two teams have played one of the only two tied IPL matches, in 2009 at Newlands
